Since yesterday's workout targeted high sustained speed over long periods of time, I was understandably tired when I woke up this morning. So today's workout focused on long-distance riding with fatigued legs to improve recovery and endurance. I went out Route 20 to Fujino, then climbed all the way up to Yamanakako, one lap around the lake, then back down and home. When I first started out, I almost turned around and went home because I felt awful and my legs would barely turn over the pedals. I didn't give up though, and just kept spinning along at a slow pace. Eventually, around the time I reached Yamanakako, I started to feel a little better (but still pretty slow), so the ride back didn't hurt as much as the ride out. That might also have had something to do with the fact that it was almost all downhill back to Route 20, though. A good weekend of training.
